Natalie O’Neill (CPsychol.)

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by people.  There was no question I would follow a career in psychology.  In my 20´s (after a brief encounter with psychiatric work), I gained my Masters in Organisational Psychology and entered the world of Consulting and leadership development.  I became increasingly frustrated with the limitations of more traditional learning approaches.  I branched into neuroscience but felt it over-intellectualised leadership and emotions at work.  I wanted to explore how to work with emotions rather than talk about emotions and searched until I found a therapeutic approach that gave me a way to do this.  I complimented this with a master’s in counselling but still, something was missing.  By this time, I´d had enough of formal academic training and qualifications and wanted something else.

In my 40s, I was introduced to the world of systems psychodynamics and knew I had found something special.  Through engaging first as a participant, I experienced first-hand the transformational shifts in myself and knew I could combine this approach with my work with leaders and organisations.

Originally from the UK, the early part of my career was across Europe.  This was followed by thirteen years in Singapore consulting to organisations across Asia.  Working with clients from UAE, Saudi Arabia, China, Japan, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam enabled me to integrate an appreciation of cultural diversity into my work.

Today, I work holistically, combining this knowledge and experience with the intention of designing and delivering evidence-based programmes that focus on learning through experience.  I am committed to the work of rehumanising the field of leadership development.

In my two-decade journey, my biggest teachers have been the hundreds of leaders that I have accompanied in their journeys, each themselves, at different ages and stages of their lives and careers.  I have been honoured to be a small part of their development journey and learned from each and every one of them.

I live in Portugal with my husband, two sons and dog.  In my free time, you will find me playing board games with my children, walking our dog and attempting to paint.
